The 20th Installment of the BIG3 Dances!

THIS EVENT WILL NOT SELL OUT! You will be able to buy tickets at the door, even for groups! There is a big dance floor surrounded by tables. Most of the tables on the main floor will be reserved for groups of eight. There will be a few extra tables on the main floor - first come, first serve. There is always plenty of seating in the balcony which affords a wonderful view of the bands and the best view of all the dancers.

All Night Entertainment presents the Big Band, Big Floor, Big Crowd XX, Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Masonic Temple Crystal Ballroom in Detroit..

Dancers and music lovers will bask in swinging sounds of Paul King and the Rhythm Society Orchestra, a 15-piece band performing true vintage swing. Their sound is heavily influenced by Count Basie and Harry James. They have covered the top swing venues throughout the Midwest and are three-time winners of the Battle of the Bands. The Satin Dolls, Detroit’s premier female vocal trio, will also perform with the band throughout the evening.

By popular demand, the evening will include a Jack and Jill dance competition as well as a Swing Dance Showcase. For the Jack and Jill, dancers of any skill level sign up individually and are randomly partnered moments before dancing. This makes for a more fun, laid-back competition with less pressure (and it’s only $5 to compete!) Of course there will be a pool of handsome prizes. The Jack & Jill and Showcase will take place during normal band breaks, so there will still be plenty of open dancing!

The Swing Dance Showcase will feature couples and possibly groups of dancers to perform for the audience. This is not a competition, but a chance for dancers to show their best moves, styling and lots of flair.

But that’s not all – guests may arrive early to join us for a wonderful buffet dinner in the Masonic’s Oak Room. The buffet will include salads, several meats, potatoes, veggies, pasta, dessert and more! This early evening option will be served at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) and is $35 per person

But wait! It’s the 20th dance, so we’ve coordinated special tours of the Masonic Temple led by Detroit-area Masons. We will run several tours throughout the evening starting at 8:30 p.m. (and they’re free).

General admission begins at 7 p.m. with a dance lesson from 7 to 8 p.m. Entertainment begins at 8:15 and concludes at 12:45 a.m. There is a cash bar available throughout the evening. Dress is semi-formal or vintage attire.

Tickets are $20 per person in advance or at the door. Add $5 for the optional lesson. Add $35 for the optional dinner. Tables of eight may be reserved in advance at no additional charge. Secured, lighted parking is available in the Masonic's north parking lot for $6 per vehicle.

To reserve a table or individual tickets, mail a check to All Night DJs, 1309 Player Dr., Troy, MI 48085. Include your guests' names and an e-mail address to confirm receipt. E-mail me if you do not receive confirmation of receipt. You will then be put on a Will Call list at the door.

The BIG3s pull dancers and non-dancers from all ages together for incredible evenings of music and dance. If you don't know how to dance, come join the many that soak in the sights and sounds of an unforgettable evening.
